Privacy Policy

Ocean's Resort Miyakojima (the "Company") has established the following Privacy Policy (hereinafter referred to as "Policy"), regarding private information handled through the Service provided on our website (hereinafter referred to as "Service").
 
Article 1: Private Information
"Private information" refers to any personal information (as outlined within the Personal Information Protection Act) that can identify a specific individual, such as name, date of birth, address, telephone number, and so on. "Private information" may also refer to historical and characteristic data connected to the services you used, the products and services purchased, pages and ads viewed, keywords searched, the date and time of your session, the method of access, the browser and settings used, your postal code, gender, occupation, age, IP address, cookies, location information, terminal ID number, and so on.

Article 2: Collection of Private Information
During user registration, we may ask for personal information, such as name, date of birth, address, telephone number, email address, bank account number, credit card number, driver's license number, etc. In addition, transaction records that include a user's personal information may be shared with our partners (referred to as "Partners"), such as booking agencies, information providers, advertisers, ad networks, etc.

When using our Service or browsing the website, we may collect historical and characteristic data about guests related to the services you used, the products and services purchased, pages and ads viewed, keywords searched, the date and time of your session, the method of access, the browser and settings used, IP address, cookies, location information, terminal ID number, and so on.

Article 3: Purpose of Personal Information
Our Company may collect and use your personal information for the purposes outlined below.

  1. In order for guests to review and modify their registration or status, we may display certain details (such as name, address, contact information, payment method, etc.) on services used or products/services purchased along with their fees. 
  2. To communicate with guests, we may use the mailing address to send goods or the name and address to contact them as necessary.
  3. To verify the identity of guests, we may use name, date of birth, address, telephone number, bank account number, credit card number, driver's license number, proof of delivery, etc.
  4. To process payments, we may use product name and quantity purchased, service(s) used and duration, frequency, billing amount, name, address, bank account number, credit card number, etc.
  5. To make it easier for users to enter data, we may display information that has been registered with our Company on the input screen or, based on the user's indicated preferences, transfer it to other services (including those provided by affiliated Partners).
  6. To refuse Service usage of those who have violated the Terms of Use or try to use the Service for fraudulent purposes, such as delaying payment or causing damage to Third Parties, we may use identifying information such as current usage form, name, address, etc.
  7. To respond to inquiries, we may refer to the inquiry content, billing charges, the user's service status, contact information, and any information deemed necessary for our Company to provide services. 
  8. Any purpose that may be related to the above.

Article 4: Provision of Personal Information to Third Parties
We will never provide personal information to Third Parties without prior consent of the user, except in the following cases and as permitted by the regulations of the Personal Information Protection Act.
  1. Situations in which the handling of personal information is governed by laws and ordinances.
  2. When it is necessary for the protection of human life, body, or property, but consent is difficult to obtain.
  3. When it is necessary for improving public health or promoting the healthy development of children, but consent is difficult to obtain.
  4. When we are required to cooperate with a national agency, the local government, or the authorities, but obtaining consent could hinder an investigation.
  5. When the following matters are announced in advance: a) purpose of use, which includes provision of personal information to Partners, b) provision of data by Partners, c) the means or methods through which information will be provided to Partners, and d) user requests to stop providing personal information to Partners.

Notwithstanding the provisions of the preceding paragraph, the following cases shall not apply to Third Party Partners.
  1. When outsourcing all or part of the individual's personal information is necessary for the Company to achieve its purpose of use.
  2. When personal information is provided due to a business merger or other related reasons.
  3. In the case where personal information is shared jointly with a specific person, the purpose and the type of data to be used as well as the scope of the person, with whom the data will be shared, shall be communicated beforehand to the guest in a manner that is easy to understand.

Article 5: Disclosure of Personal Information
When the Company is requested to disclose personal information by an individual, we will release the information without delay at a fee of ¥1,000 per case. However, if the disclosure should fall under any of the following conditions, we may not release all or part of the information. If disclosure is not possible, you will be notified immediately.
  1. When there is a risk of harming the life, body, property, rights, or interests of the individual or a Third Party.
  2. When there is a risk of significantly hindering the operations of our business.
  3. When the act of disclosure violates laws and regulations.
Notwithstanding the provisions of the preceding paragraph, we generally do not disclose any details other than personal information, such as historical and characteristic data.

Article 6: Correction and Deletion of Personal Information
If the personal information retained by the Company is erroneous, the user can request to correct or delete it through a procedure specified by us. If we decide that it is necessary to accept the request, we will correct or delete the personal information without delay and notify the user.

Article 7: Suspended Use of Personal Information
In the event that an individual requests for the Company to eliminate or suspend the use of personal information because it has been handled beyond the scope of intended use or acquired through fraudulent means, we will immediately conduct the necessary investigations and suspend use as needed based on the outcome. However, in situations where suspending use would be extremely difficult or come at great expense, we will take alternative measures in order to protect of the rights and the interests of the individual.

Article 8: Changes to Privacy Policy
Please note that the contents within this Policy may be changed without notice. Unless otherwise specified by the Company, such changes will take effect from the time that it is posted on this Site.
